• Playlists: Your custom playlists and their contents
• App Preferences: Your settings and configuration preferences
• Account Information: Email address and authentication credentials for cloud backup access

Important: We do NOT collect your actual music files, only the metadata about them. The cloud backup service is entirely optional and can be disabled at any time.

2. How We Use Your Data

If you enable cloud backup, we use your data exclusively for the following purposes:

• Backup and Restore: To back up your library data and restore it when needed
• Synchronization: To sync your library across multiple devices
• Service Improvement: To improve your personal experience with the app

We do NOT:

• Use your data for advertising purposes

Even with cloud backup enabled, we do not collect:

• Browsing history or other app usage

5. How nexTrack Works

nexTrack operates primarily on your local network:

• Local Operation: All core functionality occurs within your home network
• No Internet Required: The app works without an internet connection for local streaming
• Direct Device Communication: Your devices communicate directly with each other
• Optional Cloud Backup: Internet connection required only if you enable cloud backup

6. Data Security and Storage

For users who enable cloud backup:

• Encryption: Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest on our servers
• Secure Storage: We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data
• Access Control: Only you can access your backed-up data through your authenticated account
• Data Retention: Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your data at any time
• No Liability: While we take security seriously, we are not liable for data loss, corruption, or unauthorized access

For users who do not enable cloud backup, all data remains exclusively on your devices and network:

• Your music library and files
• App preferences and settings
• Device discovery information
• Playback history (stored locally only)

7. Third-Party Services

nexTrack does not integrate with or share data with any third-party services, analytics platforms, or advertising networks. Your privacy is completely protected from external parties.

8. Network Security

We recommend the following security practices:

• Keeping your home network secure with strong passwords
• Regularly updating your router firmware
• Being cautious about who has access to your network
• Understanding that UPnP/DLNA protocols may expose devices on your network
• Using strong, unique passwords for your cloud backup account

9. App Updates

App updates are delivered through official app stores (Apple App Store, Google Play Store, etc.). We do not track update installations or collect any information during the update process.

10. Children's Privacy

nexTrack is safe for users of all ages. If cloud backup is enabled, we may collect account information (email address) which requires parental consent for users under 13 in accordance with COPPA regulations.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

If we change our privacy practices, we will update this policy and notify users through app updates. Our core commitment to using your data only for providing you with a better personal experience remains unchanged.
